About Us

Over 40 Years of Bridging the Communication Gap

Founded in 1984 by Dr. Richard F. Rosen, a former professor at Gallaudet University, our agency began with a single mission in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area: providing top-tier communication access for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community through Sign Language USA. Gallaudet.edu

Expanding Our Reach: As the nation’s demographics shifted, so did our clients’ needs. To meet the growing demand for spoken language services, we launched Foreign Language USA.

The SLUSA Evolution: Today, those two powerhouse divisions operate seamlessly as SLUSA. We provide comprehensive access to over 300 spoken languages, robust VRI/OPI remote capabilities, and high-speed text translation—all while maintaining the personal touch and unwavering reliability of a 40-year industry leader.
