SLUSA will assign interpreters whose background, experience, education, and training match the needs of the client. SLUSA considers all aspects of client needs such as language proficiency, subject matter, setting, and preferences before assigning a specific interpreter. All interpreters working in person must complete background checks, 12 panel drug testing, as well as provide immunization records.

SLUSA utilizes an advanced scheduling system which allows us to program client preferences such as preferred interpreters, required immunization records, required certifications/licenses. This prevents our team from assigning any interpreter that does not meet or exceed the client specific requirements.

All interpreters shall arrive on-site 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time to introduce themselves, set up, and establish the environment. This also allows time for the interpreter to acclimate to client language style as well as answer any questions for individuals present that may have never experienced working with an interpreter.
